Fly to Tashkent

Your journey begins with a flight to Tashkent, the heart of the Silk Road. Upon arrival, our friendly team will greet you warm welcome and escort you to your comfortable hotel, where a peaceful retreat awaits. If you’d like to arrive early and relax, please contact the Infinite Horizons office, and well gladly assist with additional accommodations.

Day 2 - 3

Explore Tashkent

Our exploration of the capital begins with a visit to the Khast Imam Complex, home to the Uthman Quran, the oldest surviving Quran, dating back to the 7th century. This sacred site is a hub of spiritual and historical significance. We then wander through the bustling Chorsu Bazaar, a vibrant marketplace where centuries-old traditions still thrive. Continuing our journey, we visit the Tashkent Madrassah and Barak Khan Complex, stunning examples of Islamic architecture with intricate tilework and grand courtyards. As we stroll through these historic gems, we’ll discover the rich cultural and architectural heritage of Uzbekistan’s capital.

As the sun sets, relish Shashlik, grilled skewers of meat, and enjoy a glass of Kumis, a traditional fermented drink, while being entertained by Uzbek folk music.

Day 4 - 6

Uncover the beauty of Khiva

Fly to Khiva in the morning and begin your exploration with a stroll through Ichan Kala, the historic inner city, encircled by imposing walls. Marvel at the turquoise domes and minarets that define the skyline. Visit the Kalta Minor Minaret, a symbol of the city’s unfinished grandeur, and the Djuma Mosque, with its forest of ancient wooden pillars. Explore the Mohammed Amin Khan Madrasa, adorned in vibrant blue tiles, and wander through the bustling bazaars filled with spices and traditional Uzbek textiles. Visit the Kunya Ark Fortress for panoramic views and the opulent Tosh-Hovli Palace. Savour local dishes and experience traditional music and dance under the stars. On the evening of day 6, we board our carriage and experience a night train taking us to Bukhara.

Day 7 - 9

Discover the Timeless Charm of Bukhara

Embark on a three-day adventure in Bukhara, a city steeped in Silk Road history. Explore the Po-i-Kalyan Complex, home to the awe-inspiring Kalyan Minaret and the intricate Mir-i-Arab Madrasa. Discover the historic Ark Fortress and stroll through the lively Lyab-i Hauz complex, surrounded by tea houses. Visit the Ulugh Beg Madrasa and Abdulaziz Khan Madrasa, symbols of the city’s intellectual legacy. Wander Bukhara’s vibrant bazaars, are filled with carpets, spices, and handicrafts. In the evening, relax at Chor-Minor Madrasa, where four turquoise minarets shine under the setting sun. Bukhara’s rich culture and stunning architecture promise an unforgettable experience.

Samarkand: The Jewel of the Silk Road

After breakfast in Bukhara, we board a high-speed train to Samarkand for a two-day exploration of this ancient Silk Road gem. Visit the crown jewel of Uzbek history at Registan Square, home to the stunning Ulugbek, Sher-Dor, and Tilya-Kori Madrasas. Marvel at the grandeur of Bibi-Khanym Mosque and stroll through Siab Bazaar, where local produce and spices entice the senses. Explore the majestic Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, and the historic Ulugbek Observatory. In the evening, enjoy Samarkand’s illuminated landmarks and indulge in local dishes like plov and shashlik. Samarkand blends ancient history with modern vibrance, offering unforgettable memories.

Return to Tashkent

As the sun rises over Samarkand, we board a high-speed train back to Tashkent, where the afternoon invites you to enjoy private shopping for unique souvenirs—handwoven textiles, ceramics, and vibrant spices. Tashkent's markets are a perfect place to capture the essence of Uzbekistan. The journey concludes with a celebratory dinner in a local restaurant, where you can toast to the memories made along the Silk Road. Transportation is by comfortable, modern buses and dining experiences are carefully curated for the best cultural immersion. Ideal for anyone interested in the Silk Road’s rich history, the tour involves leisurely cultural explorations with extended walking, but the distances are short and manageable.

Clothing - What to pack?

Our journey along the Silk Road is thoughtfully timed to coincide with the mild, pleasant weather of spring or fall. We recommend wearing comfortable, durable walking boots, perfect for long days of exploration. For sun protection, it’s best to avoid shorts, as the region adheres to conservative dress norms. However, in the cities, modern, Western-style clothing is common. In the evenings and for dinner, smart attire is recommended. To ensure your comfort throughout, all hotels provide 24-hour laundry services.
