Firuza
My name is Firuza, and I’m proud to be from the beautiful and historic city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan. I’m 37 years old and have always had a passion for languages and history. After earning a degree from the University of Foreign Languages, I worked in the Foreign Literature section of our city’s library. When tourists visited, I enjoyed showing them around and realized my love for sharing the story of Samarkand.
I pursued this passion by completing courses in Uzbekistan’s history and architecture and became a licensed tour guide in 2015. Since then, I’ve found joy in meeting tourists from all over the world, introducing them to Samarkand’s wonders, and sharing stories about its legendary ruler, Amir Temur.
As a proud mother to my son, Temur—named after the great ruler—I continue to guide with a deep love for my city. Tourism in Uzbekistan is growing, and I’m excited to welcome visitors and share Samarkand’s magic.
