Day 5 - 6
Architectural Elegance and Everyday Life
We spend two full days immersed in the photogenic heart of Bukhara, one of the Silk Road’s most atmospheric and best-preserved cities. Each day is built around the soft, golden light of sunrise and sunset, with carefully chosen locations that highlight Bukhara’s timeless beauty. We’ll photograph architectural icons such as the Ark Fortress, the majestic Kalon Minaret and Mosque, the elegant Mir-i-Arab Madrasa, and the ancient Ismail Samani Mausoleum—a masterpiece of early Islamic architecture. Between sessions, we explore the city’s lively street scenes, where covered bazaars, local artisans, and vendors of spices, paintings, and textiles provide endless storytelling moments through your lens. Bukhara is a place where history, culture, and daily life intertwine effortlessly, offering new inspiration at every turn. With varied subjects, light, and textures to capture, the city transforms into your personal open-air studio.
Night: As-Salam Hotel, Bukhara.

Day 7 - 8
Walled Wonders of Ancient Khiva
Unlike any other city on the Silk Road, Khiva feels like stepping into a storybook of desert fortresses and caravan tales. For two days, we explore this compact, atmospheric town where mudbrick walls, turquoise domes, and intricate woodwork create a dreamlike setting for photography. Each morning begins inside the walled old town of Ichan-Kala, where we capture the soft sunrise light hitting the Kalta Minor Minaret, silent courtyards, and arched passageways. The town’s small size means we can slow down, focus on composition and detail, and revisit scenes in different light. Khiva is also a great place for people photography, from local craftsmen in their workshops to traditional models posed against centuries-old architecture. At sunset, we climb the Islom Hoja Minaret or city walls for sweeping views across the rooftops and desert beyond. With its serene pace and timeless charm, Khiva offers a concentrated dose of authentic Silk Road atmosphere, perfect for creating standout images.
Night: Orient Star Khiva Hotel, Khiva.

Day 9 - 10
Tashkent: Underground Art and Urban Energy
After our flight back to Tashkent, we settle in for a final chapter of urban exploration in Uzbekistan’s vibrant capital. The next day is dedicated to capturing the city’s unique mix of modern energy and Soviet-era design, offering a fresh contrast to the ancient Silk Road cities we’ve explored. We photograph key landmarks such as Independence Square, the colorful Chorsu Bazaar, and the elegant Museum of Applied Arts, each revealing a different side of Tashkent’s identity. One of the highlights is the city’s stunning metro system, a true underground art gallery. With its marble pillars, grand chandeliers, and mosaics, each station becomes a new composition in symmetry, color, and design. Street scenes, bold architecture, and dynamic public spaces make Tashkent a surprisingly rich destination for photography. As the sun sets over the capital, we enjoy our final evening together, cameras in hand, filled with memories and images from across this unforgettable journey.

Clothing - What to pack?
Our Uzbekistan photo tours run in March/April and September/October, when temperatures can range from cool mornings to warm afternoons. Layered clothing is key—pack a warm jacket for early shoots, and lighter layers for daytime. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for cobbled streets and uneven terrain. Long sleeves and trousers are recommended for sun protection and cultural respect, especially at religious sites. While the tour stays in comfortable hotels with some laundry access, plan outfits that can be worn multiple days. Pack for comfort and practicality rather than formality.
